Introducing the newest crunchy baby:

Sophia Audrey, 8 pounds 1 ounce, 21 inches long, and happy and healthy!

In case you didn’t catch the news on facebook or Instagram, we had another baby girl!  Like Emma, we waited to find out the gender of this baby, and I have to say I was excited to have another little girl.  It didn’t hurt that we already had the clothes for a girl and they were only two months apart season-wise.

Not only did I get my VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) but it was in the comfort of my home.  I know it gave several people piece of mind knowing things went well, especially since I opted for a home birth after having a hospital birth with Emma.  I went in with the intent of having a water birth but my laboring wasn’t what the midwives wanted it to be…on the floor it was.  I promise to give you the details of how that went down very soon.  In the meantime, I have lots to share in regards to what I have already learned along the way, and the crunchy methods that got us through labor, delivery, and nursing.

Sophia and Emma

And let’s just say Emma is super excited to be a big sister and can’t leave the baby alone.  It has been fun to watch her take care of Sophia, change her diaper and attempt to nurse her.  I can already feel the jealousy setting in though, so it has been a challenge to divide my time between the two, but I know I’ll figure it out (I hope).  Until then, I’ll keep trying to find a balance, get my butt back to cooking (and eating healthy), and get those overdue posts out to you!
